Caring for your silicone breast forms appropriately will extend their usefulness and allow you to wear them more comfortably. Most forms do not need much care besides regular cleaning. Here are the things you should be aware of when it comes to cleaning your breast forms.

You Should Clean Your Forms After Each Use

Oils and dead skin cells can build up on your breast forms, so it's important to clean them after each use, even if you have only worn them for a brief period of time. By removing as much oil and debris as possible, you will extend the life of your forms and have a better experience wearing them. Using a dedicated cleaning kit will make daily cleaning both fast for you and safe for your forms.

You Should Clean Your Forms After Swimming or Other Contact with Water

Many silicone forms can be worn while swimming or using a hot tub. However, after contact with salt water or chlorine, it is important to remove the forms and clean them before replacing them. This will prevent damage to the forms and your skin. Often, water can get trapped between your skin and the form, causing irritation if the form is not washed and replaced.

You Should Use Specialized Soap for Cleaning Your Forms

Everyday soap, such as bar soap or body wash, can build up on your forms and make them break down faster. This could also potentially cause your skin to break out. You should use a fragrance-free, gentle cleanser specifically made for cleaning silicone breast forms every time you clean your forms. This will extend the life of your forms and reduce irritation during longer wearing sessions.

You Should Dry Your Forms Before Storing Them  Ideally, you should store your forms in their original packaging. This helps them keep their shape while minimizing the buildup of dust and debris. However, you should let your forms dry completely before storing them in a sealed container to prevent damage or the growth of mold or mildew. Most forms can be patted dry with a lint-free towel and then allowed to air dry for ten or fifteen minutes before you store them.

A specialized silicone breast forms cleaning kit can help you care for your breast forms in a gentle, hygienic way. This will allow you to use your forms longer. Before cleaning your forms, check out the manufacturer's recommendations and follow them for the best results.
